    Reem Racing was founded in 2011 by Thomas Herbert, Volkswagen Drag Racing Championship Public Relations representative. Initially Reem Racing was a race team that consisted of 2 VW Golf VR6 racecars completing in the VWDRC at both Santa Pod Raceway and Shakespeare County Raceway. In 2011 the team debuted both cars, Paul Herbert finished 3rd in the VW PRO Class in his VR6 Supercharged VW Golf while Thomas Herbert finished 9th in the Sportsman category with his VR6 VW Golf.

   

    The 2012 season saw Paul improve in the final championship standings earning himself 2nd in the VW PRO class running a personal best quarter mile time of 11.74 at 124mph. The year wasn't as successful for Thomas, after running a personal best of 12.70 at 107mph at the cars first event catastophic engine failure saw an end to The Reem Machine's season. 2012 was also the year that Reem Racing began the extremely popular media coverage, the coverage originally consisted of short videos highlights of VWDRC national events. In the first year Reem Racing Films received 10,000 views on youtube as well as highlighted mentions from Santa Pod Raceway, VW Performance Magazine and Eurodragster Event Coverage.
